LightScribe technology lets you burn a custom-designed label directly onto the disc

LightScribe technology lets you burn a custom-designed label directly onto the disc.  And now you can take your creativity and individuality one step further with a new spectrum of colored-background LightScribe CDs.

Lightscribe

LightScribe Direct Disc Labeling is an exciting disc labeling technology that enables you to burn silkscreen-quality labels directly on your CDs and/or DVDs providing easy to create professional quality no-hassle labels.  The surface of a LightScribe disc is coated with a reactive dye that changes color when it absorbs 780 nm infrared laser light.

Dvd

With the onset of new technologies there has never been a better time to shop for DVD media.  We also stock a large range of lightscribe DVD products and are determined not be beaten in terms of selection of CD media and DVD media, blank DVDs or lightscribe DVD.

Label

LightScribe media is specially coated to chemically react when a laser beam is applied to it, thus creating labels.  Currently, you can print LightScribe labels in black with grayscale.  Trash those sticky paper labels that can peel off and jam your disc drive.

Technology

The big disadvantage to this technology was that the design size was often limited due to a large amount of written data.  Because of this, the project was abandoned in 2003 until the development of Labelflash, which uses the same technology to burn images to the label side of a disc, though the ability to burn images on the data side of a disc has been retained.  Labeling a disc using Labelflash technology can only be done with a special Labelflash compatible disc drive and discs that have a special dye similar to that of LightScribe media.  But choosing the right direct disc labeling technology is an important question that requires taking a look at the value of time and money, the differences between the resulting disc labels, as well as the availability and flexibility of the hardware and software.  For many, one technology is better than the other just because it is easier to obtain in the place where he or she lives.  However, direct disc labeling technology also presents problems of its own that have yet to be solved.

When it comes to blank media, CD R and DVD R we really take some beating and if you can find a better selection of CD media or lightscribe DVD anywhere we would be very surprised.  We not only pride ourselves on our stock of blank DVDs but also our customer service and all things connected to DVD media and associated products.  We are confident of providing you with all your CD media and lightscribe DVD requirements so whatever you want, from a small amount of blank DVDs to the latest in blank DVD technology we’ve got the lot.  We really excel in the supply of blanks DVDs and are recognised specialists in lightscribe DVD products; in a nutshell we are the only choice for CD media, DVD media and blank DVD’s.
